A Meaningful Connection to Jewish Life
A key feature of the Jewish Discovery Center’s mission is to bring the warmth and joy of Jewish holidays to the entire community. Each festival is marked by vibrant, inclusive programming designed to engage individuals and families of all backgrounds. From the spiritual introspection of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to the festive joy of Purim, every celebration is thoughtfully organized to blend tradition with accessibility.
The High Holidays offer meaningful and inspiring prayer experiences, with user-friendly prayer books and explanations to help everyone feel at home. For Sukkot, the JDC welcomes the community to a beautifully decorated mega-sukkah, with delightful meals, lulav and etrog, and family-friendly events. Simchat-Torah is the high-energy finale of the month of holidays. Chanukah brings public menorah lightings, lively parties, and menorah kits delivered to those unable to attend in person, ensuring that the light of the holiday reaches every home.
Throughout the year, programs for Purim, Passover, Shavuot, and beyond feature interactive experiences—megillah readings in costume, model matzah bakeries, Passover seders, ice cream parties for the giving of the Torah, and hands-on workshops for children. Each event is infused with educational elements, joy, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Chabad’s inclusive philosophy. Whether someone is new to Judaism, traditionally observant or just simply curious, the JDC’s holiday programs offer a meaningful connection to Jewish life and community.
